Liz Earle Hot Polish Cloth Cleanser

Key Ingredients

Cocoa Butter

This rich, creamy butter which has moisturising effects on the skin is made from the roasted seeds of the cocoa tree, the same seeds that give us chocolate and cocoa
Hops Extract (Humulus lupulus)
This herbal extract comes from the pinecone-like fruit of the hop plant and has astringent and toning properties.
Rosemary Essential Oil/Extract (Rosmarinus officinalis)
This renowned and once sacred herb has been used for centuries in beauty preparations. Rosemary essential oil has a fresh pungent aroma and is very invigorating and stimulating. The extract has beneficial antioxidant properties.

Chamomile Essential Oil/Extract (Anthemis nobilis)
This herb takes its name from the Greek kamai (ground) and melon (apple) because of the sweet apple-like fragrance it releases when trodden on. The essential oil is considered a gentle oil by aromatherapists and medical herbalists have used chamomile for soothing the skin for centuries.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil (Eucalyptus globulus)
Native to Australia, eucalyptus shoots are a favourite food of the koala. The cooling essential oil produced from the leaves and twigs has decongestant properties and is used by aromatherapists to ease muscular aches and pains.

D-Panthenol
Otherwise known as pro-vitamin B5, this B vitamin is necessary for the normal functioning of the skin and has a moisturising effect. It also helps stimulate cellular renewal.

Glycerin
The glycerin we use is always vegetable derived. It is a humectant (attracts water), drawing atmospheric water onto the skin to aid hydration.

Beeswax (Cera alba)
The beeswax used in Naturally Active Skincare comes from the honeycombs in which bees store their pollen. It has skin protecting properties and helps to relieve chapped skin.

Usage Instructions

Cleanse daily morning and night using this two-step process:

Step 1: Massage 1 or 2 pumps gently onto dry skin over face and neck. Free from mineral oil, its rich and creamy texture swiftly removes all traces of face and eye make-up, including stubborn mascara.
Step 2: Rinse the pure muslin cloth in hand-hot water and wring out before gently polishing off the cream to gently remove dead skin cells and help reveal clean, soft and radiant skin.
Splash face with cool clean water and follow with Instant Boost Skin Tonic and your choice of moisturiser.
The Experience
Skin Type – Combination-Oily skin.
I have been using the product twice a day for the past one month and two weeks and the product is still not over yet. But I guess time was ripe to post a review. The product is a creamy cleanser with the consistency of whipped cream. It comes in a sleek pump type plastic container. The pack comes with 2 pieces of muslin cloth which is neither too rough nor too soft. Very little product

is enough to cover the face and neck and it spreads smoothly over the face. The cleanser has a mild herby fragrance with hints of Eucalyptus and Chamomile being in top note.
As a normal daily cleanser, the product does a clean and quick job of cleansing the face without much fuss. After almost 3 or 4 days of usage, I noticed that my face was more oily than normal, especially around the nose. At first I found this quite scary as I thought at that rate I would have a break out. But thank God, it never occurred to me to stop using the cleanser. The unnatural oiliness subsided and my skin was getting back to normal. By the end of about 2 weeks, I noticed a change in my skin texture. It was feeling soft and looking smooth and clean.
As a cleanser for make up removal – Initially I did not try it for makeup removal at all. After finding a good improvement in my skin texture, I decided to use it for hard core makeup removal. Tested it using different products like – Maybelline Define A Lash Mascara, Ellis Faas Mascara, Colorbar Eyeshadows, Bourjois Eye Pencils, Maybelline Studio Gel Eyeliner, MAC/Colorbar Blushes etc. The makeup removal aspect of the cleanser is awesome and happens in one swipe, with the Ellis Faas mascara being an exception. It takes two swipes for that to get removed completely. The best part is that the cleanser does not sting the eyes at all. The soft muslin cloth dipped in hot water and wrung out, acts a mild polisher for the face. The cloth needs to be washed with a mild soap on a regular basis which ensures that it remains clean and bacteria free. I have been using the product for the past one month and approximately 2 weeks and the product is still remaining.
