Himalaya Herbals Gentle Exfoliating Walnut Scrub Review

Exfoliation can be defined as the removal of the oldest and topmost layer of dead skin cells using natural or chemical products and processes. I love to exfoliate my skin atleast every second day and have used varieties of scrubs for the same purpose.

Himalaya Herbals Gentle Exfoliating Walnut Scrub

 ♣ What the product claims:

Himalaya Herbals Gentle Exfoliating Walnut Scrub gently exfoliates dead skin cells to remove impurities that routine cleansing cannot tackle. It contains Crab Apple, as oothing antiseptic and keratolytic agent to help loosen dead skin fragments, Walnut shell granules to scrub away dirt, blackheads and dead cells and Wheatgerm Oil, a rich source of natural Vitamin E. These natural ingredients cleanse, nourish and moisturize your skin to make it soft, fresh and radiant.

♣ Ingredients :

Ext. Seva, Oil. Godhuma and Pdr. Akschota.
♣ Usage

Moisten face and neck and apply, avoiding area around the eyes. Massage gently with fingertips in a circular motion for a minute. Wash off and pat dry.
♣ Review
I used it as per the instructions on the pack and it pretty much lives up to the claim of cleansing and making the skin look fresh. But the granules are not as gentle as they say. Atleast I find them too big for a face scrub.  Please note that when I use such a product, naturally there is a comparison with others of the same category- think St.Ives, Everyuth. The texture is creamy and infused with granules of walnut shell. The scrub doesn’t make your skin dry and kind of keeps it supple and moisturized, but the large ish granules feels harsh on my skin.
♣ What I Like

+ Good cleanser
+ Does not dry the skin, but keeps a decent level of moisture on the face.
♣ What I don’t like

–  The granules are quite harsh on the face and is not gentle at all.
–  The smell is very much like a medicine – think Pectocab.
I would not buy this product again, mainly because of the fragrance and also the harshness of the scrub. Would prefer something milder for the face. In fact, there was quite a bit remaining in my tube and I used it up as a whole body scrub combined with my St.Ives Body Wash 🙂
